Security Analyst

 Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the analysis and auditing of the enterprise security systems on a diverse set of computing platforms, operating systems and applications

  • Will perform monitoring/auditing activities (eg. monitoring access logs and assigned privilege levels) to provide assurance that security is being maintained at an appropriate level.

  • Responsible for the coordination and conducting of information security audits and successful implementation of information security technologies, practices and delivery of security services to a standard consistent with industry best practices. 

  • Will lead and report on, in an ongoing basis, probes into and the investigation of security vulnerabilities, security breaches, and/or concerted attempts at breaching company security.

  • Will review, investigate and report on the compliance with established policies, standards and procedures, assess requests for Exception and/or Exemption to policy and recommend appropriate disposition. 

  • Assist in the development of information security policies, standards and procedures for business units consistent with corporate security objectives and generally accepted and leading edge Information Security practices and professional security standards.

  • Will show Technical Leadership and act as the Subject Matter Expert for supported services, security technologies, investigative processes, practices, information security systems and risk assessment.

  • Assist in delivery of information security programs, including an information security framework, for applications, tools, anti-virus protection, encryption and fire walls, implementation support, identification of system vulnerabilities, system assessments, information security advice and consultation, business resumption and contingency planning and disaster recovery programs for business units/departments across company.

  • The delivery of reports containing the results of technical information security assessments with conclusions, recommendations for improvement, and planned management actions to Supervisor/Management Team, and follow-up status.

  • Will review, in an iterative process, existing systems, applications, technology and processes, and propose changes, to ensure that security is, and will be, configured properly. Recommend alternatives for remediation as appropriate.

  • Will assist in the development and delivery of awareness training sessions and general information security education bulletins.

 

Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years experience in information security.

  • Excellent analytical and communications skills. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. 

  • Ability to work in a team environment. 

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities. 

  • CISSP, DRII, FBCI, GIAC designations preferred
